Mohammad Abdullah Al Faruque is currently with University of California Irvine (UCI), where he is a tenure track assistant professor, the Emulex Career Development Chair and directing the cyber-physical systems lab. Before, he was with Siemens Corporate Research and Technology in Princeton, NJ. His current research is focused on system-level design of embedded systems and/or Cyber-Physical-Systems (CPS) with special interest on multi-core systems, system modeling, real-time scheduling algorithms, etc.

Some exemplary research topics he has been working on and/or interested in are as follows:

    Multi-core systems

  •         Networks-on-Chip architecture and applications
  •         Architecture-level and system-level adaptation
  •         Low power design
  •         Multi-core real-time controllers, e.g. Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)

    Embedded systems and/or cyber-physical systems

  •         CPES: Cyber-physical Energy Systems (Computing for Green)
  •         CPMS: Cyber-Physical Medical Systems
  •         CPTS: Cyber-Physical Transportation Systems
  •         Energy management of data centers (Green Computing)
