Announcement And Call For Papers SYMPOSIUM ON FIRE AND COMBUSTION SYSTEMS Baltimore, Maryland The ASME K-11 Committee on Fire and Combustion is organizing a Symposium on Fire and Combustion Systems at the 1997 National Heat Transfer Conference. The symposium includes stand-up sessions and an open forum. The objective of this symposium is to provide a forum for the interaction between researchers in heat transfer relating to fire and combustion. Both fundamental and applied research topics are appropriate and experimental, theoretical, and numerical contributions are welcome. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
Stand-up sessions will be conducted in the traditional lecture format and papers will be published in a bound volume. Authors whose papers are judged to be of permanent interest will be encouraged to submit manuscripts to the editor of the ASME Journal of Heat Transfer for further review. Two copies of abstracts for the stand-up sessions are required by . One copy must be submitted to either of the symposium organizers. The second copy must be submitted to the Technical Program Chair (indicating interest in the Symposium on Fire and Combustion Systems).

OPEN FORUM:The objective of the open forum is to promote the presentation of work in progress or recently completed work pertaining to topics of interest including those listed above. Open group discussion periods will be scheduled following each presentation to encourage the exchange of ideas and information. Authors will also be asked to assemble presentation materials in a manner such that they can be presented in poster form following the presentation and group discussion period. Full manuscripts are not required. Please submit Open Forum abstracts by to either of the symposium organizers listed above. The authors will be notified of acceptance by April 11, 1997. |
