A strong mission of the UCI Power Electronics Laboratory is to contribute to the success of our industry by providing the latest technology and excellent students. In the mean time, our program relies on support from industry to survive and grow. We welcome industrial sponsorship to conduct research, development, and design of high efficiency switching power supplies, high- fidelity class-D power amplification control chips, high- fidelity class-D power amplifiers, single-phase or three-phase power-factor-correction control chips, single-phase or three-phase unity-power factor rectifers or active power filters, active or passive soft switching methods for higher frequency and low EMI, grid-connected inverters for alternative energy sources with sinusoidal current injection, pulse current sources for lasers, motion control, UPS, etc.
1. UCI Power Electronics Lab Industry Membership Application Form The goal of this program is to boost the collaboration between UCI and industry. Membership fee is $10K USD/year.
We will help you to make connection with power electronics engineers. We will help US Power Electronics companies to make connection with and build parternership with manufacture and design facilities in China. We will also provide you with complimentary copies of thesis, dissertations, and technical papers. Members have access to UCI Power Electronics Laboratory faculty and students for consultation. Opportunities are also available for members to spend extended periods of time at UCI Power Electronics Laboratory to conduct collaborative research.
2. UC MICRO Program: The MICRO program was established in 1981 by the State of California. Its purpose is to support innovative research in microelectronics technology, its applications in computer and information sciences, and its necessary antecedents in other physical science disciplines. The objective is to help the California electronics and computer industries maintain their leadership by expanding relevant research and graduate student training and education at the University of California (UC). Only California companies (companies with at least one office in California) are eligible. Under this program, the UC overhead (50%) is waived. In addition, the California State will make partial contribution to the sponsored research. Projects must be proposed before March 20th of the year and be performed from August 1st to July 31st.
3. Contract: We will conduct the research work for you under contract. A 50% overhead is required.
4. Donation: We will conduct the research work for you without contract. The 50% overhead is not required.
