Parks, Recreation, and Environment Working Committee

Introduction

Leslee A. Temple, FASLA, Vice President of NUVIS Landscape Architecture and Planning in Costa Mesa, is serving as Chair of the Parks, Recreation, and Environment (PR&E) Working Committee. The charge of the committee is to holistically look at resource-based and user-based facilities within Orange County from the national, state, county and municipality level.

We applaud and commend the engineers involved for including PR&E as one the critical infrastructure categories for this local effort. It was not a classification when the national effort was completed.

The committee prepares and reviews weekly packets of information and then discusses, strategies, and formulates insights and opinions at four (4) intuitive think tank three hour luncheon sessions every three weeks. Email, telephone, and fax machines stay busy in between. The committee will be conducting an “Are Your Parks Hitting the Mark?” session with City Directors on August 1 at the Costa Mesa Neighborhood Center from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
