Department of Biomedical Engineering - Postdoctoral Scholar Position
Salary: $41,496 – $42,456

Applications are invited for one or more positions as a postdoctoral scholar employee with the Department of Biomedical Engineering in The Henry Samueli School of Engineering at the University of California, Irvine. We seek qualified candidates with experience in fluorescence spectroscopy and microscopy with broad interests in fluorescence spectroscopy methods. Specific experience with cellular imaging, lifetime imaging, multi-photon excitation microscopy and Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy (Image Fluctuation and RICS) is desirable.
The applicants will participate in a core facility project on development of advanced image correlation spectroscopy techniques for live cell imaging.
The initial appointment will be 12 months. Salary range will be based on level of experience. Renewal of the appointment will be contingent upon availability of adequate funding and performance. The position requires a Ph.D. or M.D. degree. Good communication and writing skills are required. The applicant should have broad experience in physics, biochemistry, optics and computer programming. Specific expertise in manipulating biological samples is needed.
