E-Week 2015 Kicks off Monday

John LaRue, associate dean for undergraduate affairs, passes out pancakes at last year's Dean's Breakfast. The Samueli School’s Engineering Student Council (ESC) presents Engineers Week 2015 “Through the Eyes of an Engineer.” The weeklong event kicks off Monday with booths and activities on the Engineering Plaza. It will conclude Saturday with a student-faculty softball game. In between, there will be food, t-shirts, competitions, career fair, awards and most of all lots of engineering-style fun.

Established in 1951 by the National Society of Professional Engineers, E-Week is an annual event aimed at increasing public awareness and appreciation for the engineering profession.

This year, ESC is introducing three new events -- the E-Week Kick-Off Fair, Engineering Lip Dub and EngiTECH Prep Night. The students have also made significant improvements to the Dean's Breakfast, EngiTECH Career Fair and E-Week BBQ.

“At UCI E-Week is an annual, week-long celebration that strengthens the engineering community,” says Swaril Mathur, ESC President. “This series of 11 unique, student-run events provides a platform for students, alumni, staff, faculty and professionals to come together and share their passion for engineering. Collaboration breeds innovation, and that's what E-Week is all about.”

Most activities will occur on the Engineering Plaza, unless noted otherwise.
