Ingenuity Event to Showcase Student Projects and Honor Philanthropic Friends

UC Irvine’s The Henry Samueli School of Engineering and the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences are coming together to present Ingenuity 2013, a student technology showcase event on May 7, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Center.  Industry representatives and the community are invited to the event, which will feature five student teams from each school who will demonstrate their award-winning projects. Pete Balsells and Janice and Ted Smith will be honored for their generous commitment to the schools, and a keynote address will be delivered by Dave DeWalt, chairman and CEO of FireEye Inc., Silicon Valley’s hottest security start-up, according to Forbes Magazine.

“We are looking forward to honoring these generous supporters of our schools and to showing off the talent of our students,” says Ed Hand, executive director of development and external relations for engineering and information and computer sciences.
