Engineering Student Council Honors Professor Tang With "2005 Faculty of the Year" Award

Tang selected for outstanding teaching contributions

June 20, 2005 - Bill Tang, Ph.D., professor of biomedical engineering, electrical engineering and computer science, and affiliated with the Integrated Nanosystems Research Facility, was presented with the esteemed “2005 Faculty of the Year” award by the Engineering Student Council (ESC).

Tang was chosen exclusively by students based on his outstanding teaching contributions, as well as exceeding student expectations.

“I am thrilled to receive this award,” said Tang. “I am especially honored as I have only been a faculty member here for three years.”

All nominations were received from students by the ESC, the official student government for The Henry Samueli School of Engineering, in the form of a 500-word explanation, describing why their candidate deserved this honor.  Students had the opportunity to nominate any professor in Samueli School.
