Partnerships
The Henry Samueli School of Engineering is dedicated to developing long-term relationships with industrial partners that benefit both industry and the school's faculty and students. There are many ways to become involved, from corporate affiliates programs and cooperative research, to philanthropic support and participation on the School's advisory boards. Please contact the office of Development and External Relations if you are interested in developing a partnership with The Henry Samueli School of Engineering.
Affiliates Programs
The school's two affiliates programs provide an avenue for the continuous flow of new information and access to an outstanding pool of engineering talent. Programs include:
Groundbreaking research is the heart of the Samueli School. Industrial partners can sponsor an individual faculty member's research on a contractual or philanthropic basis, become involved in one of the school's many research centers, or license a technology developed on campus. The Office of Development and External Relations is happy to assist your company in making contact with the faculty and matching your interests with theirs.
Philanthropic Support
Recruiting top undergraduate and graduate students, as well as top-flight faculty, requires a strong public/private partnership. Competition for the best students and faculty is fierce; scholarships, fellowships and other forms of philanthropic support enable the Samueli School to attract those who may not come to the school otherwise. By providing these gifts to the school, industrial partners create a relationship with the student or faculty member that can benefit each party.
Advisory Boards
Interaction with industry leaders plays a crucial role in determining new directions for the school, developing new programs and curriculum, and pursuing new avenues of research. The school has four corporate advisory boards: the Engineering Advisory Board who are corporate sponsors of cooperative research, alumni and friends, the Biomedical Engineering Corporate Advisory Board, the Civil and Environmental Engineering Affiliates, and the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Corporate Advisory Board. Membership on each board is by invitation, ensuring a diverse mix of companies and viewpoints.
