Postdoctoral Scholar: Cellular and Biomaterials Engineering

The Department of Biomedical Engineering in the Henry Samueli School of Engineering invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar in Professor Wendy Liu’s lab.  The successful candidate will lead an NIH-funded project in molecular design of materials to modulate the immune system for applications in medical devices and tissue engineering.

Jr. Specialist – Chang Liu Lab

The Department of Biomedical Engineering in the Henry Samueli School of Engineering is currently accepting applications for a Jr. Specialist to join the laboratory of Professor Chang C. Liu.  The successful candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary research team focusing on synthetic biology. Responsibilities will include 1) carrying out projects and experiments under the guidance of senior members of the group, and 2) performing lab management duties. Experience in molecular biology techniques (e.g.

Postdoctoral Scholar: Focusing on Orthogonal Genetic Systems

Will remain open until filled

The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of California, Irvine, invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar in Assistant Professor Chang Liu’s lab.  Liu’s laboratory designs and applies orthogonal biosystems to dramatically accelerate or decelerate the speed of evolution, to reinterpret the genetic code, and to record transient information. Recently, the Liu Lab engineered the first orthogonal DNA replication system, and currently seeks to hire three postdoctoral scholars to develop orthogonal replication and genetics. Projects will focus in the following areas:

Associate Professor, Biomedical Engineering and Associate Director, Beckman Laser Institute and Medical Clinic

Will remain open until filled

The Beckman Laser Institute and Medical Clinic (BLI) and the Department of Biomedical Engineering in the Henry Samueli School of Engineering at the University of California, Irvine are seeking to fill a new, tenured position in Biophotonics with specialized expertise in spectroscopy and imaging of skin.  Primary responsibilities will include serving as Associate Director of the Beckman Laser Institute while contributing to the teaching and advising of postdoctoral, graduate, and undergraduate students in the Department of Biomedical Engineering.  An appointment at the Associate Professor ra
