Environment

Environmental research in ChEMS centers on using fundamental concepts in chemical engineering, such as mass transfer theory, to better understand, and ultimately predict, the fate and transport of contaminants in the environment.  Research in this area is both theoretical and observationally-based, and relies heavily on  modern concepts and tools from hydrology, oceanography, microbiology, molecular biology, and geophysics.
