Sam Abi-Samra – Moderator; Senior Project Manager, HDR Engineering
Speaker: Doug Eberhard, Senior Director of Infrastructure, Autodesk
Building Information Model (BIM) has become mainstream in various segments of the AEC industry, but has yet to reach its full potential as more and more infrastructure owners and project teams consider where to use it, and where not to. Smarter 3-D BIM models and workflows are replacing outdated and error prone 2-D processes, yet 2-D has remained the predominant legal and contractual deliverable thus far. Hear from industry veteran Doug Eberhard as he discusses the state of change in the civil, environmental and building industry marketplace today. See examples of leading projects that are taking BIM to higher and deeper levels of the design and decision making process. Learn about how Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) is further transforming the process through the use a shared risk/reward model and contract deliverables built around BIM. Explore how leading agencies and organizations are implementing and benefiting from BIM today and gain insights into the future of sustainable infrastructure and the professional industry upon which it is built and managed.
“BIM: Conception to Construction”
Speaker: Tom Lazear, Consultant to Bentley Systems, Inc.
A case study of how the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has developed Building Information Modeling to cover the entire lifecycle of major projects, from conception through space planning, to design development, fabrication and construction.
Invited Speaker: Larry Serafini, Deputy Airport Director, John Wayne Airport
