As Henry Samueli School of Engineering alumni, you are part of an exceptional technological community that continues to develop new traditions and welcome individuals worldwide. The School is in an exciting growth spurt, developing innovative advancements each year that help promote UC Irvine as an interdisciplinary, world-class research university. As a former student, you received a well-rounded education through the combination of classroom, laboratory and industry experience. Now, we encourage you to continue to be part of the many dynamic opportunities within the Samueli School, and hope that you continue to play a role in the School’s success. There are a variety of activities available for you to get involved with, and we encourage you to participate in as many as you want.
Engineering Alumni Advisory Council
We are very pleased to share with you a new development in the structure of the Engineering Alumni Society (EAS). The Henry Samueli School of Engineering Development Office has formed a new Engineering Alumni Advisory Council, giving the Development Office an opportunity to gather ideas and feedback directly from alumni. Our Council reflects all decades, backgrounds, majors and interests that our student body and alumni represent. The Council will also have a voice on the School's Engineering Advisory Board. Engineering Alumni Career Night
If you would like to share your knowledge and experiences with current engineering students, consider becoming a mentor and participating in a growing number of programs in the school or on campus. Such programs include the annual Engineering Alumni Career Night and the Alumni Sharing Knowledge (ASK) program at the Career Center http://www.career.uci.edu. The annual Engineering Alumni Career Night, held during the fall quarter, is designed to allow students and alumni the opportunity to exchange information about careers in engineering. Students are encouraged to ask questions and are able to obtain tips and advice from alumni who are now engineering professionals in the community. To volunteer, please e-mail cbilling@uci.edu.
Engineering Student Council and Engineering Student Organizations
The Engineering Student Council (ESC) and various engineering student organizations in the school welcome alumni support and assistance with their programs. Events include Engineering Week festivities and design competitions held annually in February, career workshops, and other activities designed to foster relationships with alumni and industry for recruiting or outreach.
