Welcome to the Dean's Office

Student Affairs Office: Under the leadership of the Associate Dean for Student Affairs, this office provides a complete range of services for both current and prospective undergraduate and graduate students. 

The Center for Opportunities and Diversity in Engineering (CODE): Headed by a Director and supported by several student tutors and peer counselors, this is a discipline-based program that provides academic support and professional development to all students; however primarily to those groups that have been disadvantaged and/or under-represented in engineering.

Office of Research Development:  The mission of the Office of Research Development is to encourage and advance research activities at The Henry Samueli School of Engineering at UC Irvine. The office provides support in developing major initiatives and interdisciplinary proposals involving private/and or governmental sponsorship. It also facilitates coordination with other academic and administrative units on campus.

Office of Development and External Relations (DER): This office serves as a vehicle for initiating, coordinating, and sustaining relationships with industry and alumni. Under the leadership of the Assistant Dean for Development and External Relations and the support staff, resources needed to support the school's students, faculty and programs are secured.

School/EH&S Safety Officer: The campus Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) office provides a safety coordinator for the school. This person ensures that safe practices are maintained in all aspects of day-to-day activities for all faculty, staff, and students in offices and laboratories. 

Computing Support Group: Comprised of programmers and systems administrators, this group provides computing support for the school's administrative and instructional computing needs.

Dean's Business Office: The Dean is administratively responsible for the instructional and research programs, solely responsible for budget allocations to the individual academic units in the school, and has recommending authority for all academic personnel actions. The support-staff assists the Dean in short and long range planning, and ensures that the School complies with the policies and procedures established by the University. The Dean, the Associate Dean for Faculty Relations, the Assistant Dean for Planning and Administration, and other support staff are in this office. 

The UCI ADVANCE Program: The UCI ADVANCE Program promotes institutional transformation toward gender equity by increasing the representation and advancement of women faculty across entire campus.  It aims to address gender inequities in the faculty by increasing recruitment, retention and the advancement of women across the entire UC Irvine campus.
